Meet The Team

Kyle Bradley Swartz
Medical Information Officer

  • I graduated from Southern Methodist University Summa Cum Laude and Honors in Liberal Arts in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry with an English Minor. I was a part of the Phi Beta Kappa honors society and received the award of Outstanding Graduating Senior in Biochemistry for the highest GPA of my class. I am currently attending University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center’s MD program with expected graduation in 2023 and will also be completing a MPH with University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston in 2022.
  • I am the Medical Information Officer for International meaning I am in charge of protocol and new projects. Some examples of projects we have completed thus far in my tenure include Naloxone training, Stroke Education, Emergency Medicine campaign, COVID-19 telehealth, and EKG training.
  • My motivation for joining Hearts for the Homeless was to be a part of an organization that serves a marginalized group and helps improve the lives of those most in need. Being in medical school, I have often seen the gaps and cracks in the current healthcare system. By being a part of Hearts for the Homeless, I get to help fill these gaps and serve those who would otherwise be forgotten.
  • My future academic goals are mainly centered around policy. I would like to complete my MD/MPH degrees and go into psychiatry, eventually going into administration and policy to help state and local institutions bolster their mental health initiatives, especially for marginalized groups such as individuals experiencing homelessness.
