Focus

Jennifer Daley came to public health through neuroscience, which she studied at Virginia Tech, before her interest grew from individual brains to whole populations. She earned her MPH in Biostatistics from George Washington University’s Milken Institute School of Public Health, and in December 2023 she and several fellow MPH students founded the GWU chapter of Hearts for the Homeless.
She was born and raised in the DC, Maryland, Virginia (DMV) area. Since it is her personal community, she wanted to see it turn toward people in the community who have the least.
After finishing the MPH in December 2024, she started a second master’s at Georgetown University within weeks, completing her MSc in Clinical and Translational Research, with a concentration in clinical trials, in May 2026. During that time she handed off the GWU chapter presidency and stayed on as an alumni advisor, a role she still holds.
She joined H4H International’s research department in 2024 and was named Research Director before the end of the year. At the close of 2025 she added the role of Chief Scientific Officer, which carries voting authority on the executive board over H4H’s international projects and decisions. Between the two, her work spans the full arc of a study: data collection management, IRB submissions and amendments, data security, statistical analysis and interpretation, and manuscript development for every active project at H4H, both internationally and at the chapter level.
Mentorship is the heart of the work. For Mrs. Daley there is a particular pleasure in hearing a student arrive with an idea and then helping them temper it into a research question: rigorous, ethical, answerable, and framed so that it regards people experiencing homelessness as authors of their own lives rather than subjects of someone else’s study. H4H’s inaugural journal issue is nearly here, and she is eager to see her students’ work highlighted.
She considers it a privilege to help train the scientists who come next, and she is grateful for the trust H4H has placed in her to do it.
