Transparency
Finance and grants handles every dollar that moves through Hearts for the Homeless International, from a ten-dollar donation to a multi-chapter grant. The team publishes what it can and answers for the rest.
Annual reports and impact statements are published so supporters can trace a contribution to the field, and our IRS profile, tax filings and exemption documentation are available through the IRS Tax Exempt Organization Search.
Through financial modelling that weighs a chapter's size, the community it serves and the cost of the supplies it needs. Records are maintained for every country we operate in, so allocation is traceable rather than discretionary.
The Chief Financial Officer, who sits on the executive committee, with independent oversight on donations, expenses and reimbursements. The team also acts as the liaison between regional branches and the executive board through quarterly reporting.
Yes. Active chapters can request support for supplies, events and outreach through their regional operations lead, who passes the request to finance and grants.
Every resource is directed toward the mission rather than toward profit, and the organisation is run by volunteers. That is precisely why the reporting standard is strict: the money is the only part of this that is not donated time.
