Focus Compliance, innovation, and chapter resources

Eric Lee is the Chief Medical Information Officer of Hearts for the Homeless International and a second-year medical student. He joined H4H in 2022 and has spent his time with the organisation inside the Medical Information department, holding a number of roles along the way — among them Assistant Director of Compliance and Innovation.

That work kept him close to the ground. Seeing the impact H4H has on local communities is what keeps him advocating for and serving the homeless population, and it shapes how he approaches the department: not as paperwork, but as the thing that makes a screening safe, consistent, and worth showing up for.

As Chief Medical Information Officer he is constantly developing new initiatives and resources for chapters to use. He hopes to keep serving local homeless communities through this role and, in time, as a physician.

Contribution

The work of medical information.

Eric’s department sets the standards chapters work to, and builds the tools they use to meet them.

01

Compliance

The standards and guidelines chapters follow, so a screening is safe and consistent wherever it happens.

02

Innovation

New ideas tested against those standards, then handed to chapters as something they can actually run.

03

Resources for chapters

Materials and tools built for the volunteers doing the work on the ground, and kept current as needs change.

04

Advocacy

Speaking for the homeless population H4H serves, and keeping that population at the centre of what the department decides.

Advocating for and serving the homeless population — and building the resources that let every chapter do the same.
